Ning Rakes In the Big Bucks

Ning has quietly established itself as a $750 million dollar social networking start-up after recently raising $15 million. Ning is based in Palo Alto, Californing and it was founded by Marc Andreessen and Gina Bianchini.

The social networking plaform was founded in 2007 and has 29.3 million registered users, who have established 1.3 million social networks.

The platform’s main strength is that it provides slick design and advanced widgets and tools all packaged in an extremely easy to use interface. For experienced developers, the platform becomes an extensible dev platform to build new solutions. Solid support and its developer network are added bonuses. Is the Ning platform the future of DIY social networking?
